This past weekend it was Family Weekend at High Point, and my parents surprised me with bringing my dog. I was excited to see my family for the first time since move in, and seeing my dog here made it even better. When they came on Thursday night, we went out for dinner and caught up on everything that was going on. After my classes were done on Friday, they brought my dog on campus and she spent the day here in my room, and walking around campus. I showed my parents where my classes were, and they enjoyed seeing the buildings again on an "unofficial" tour.
I was very surprised at how well my dog handled it here, since she is old and doesn't like other dogs and a lot of people. She was very overwhelmed when we were walking to get lunch since it was so busy, but she enjoyed all of the attention she got from people.
After being away from home for a few weeks and living here on my own, I really enjoyed seeing my parents and they liked seeing how much I've changed since I left. I was glad they got to meet some of the friends I've made here, and see how I'm doing with school work and everything. I think the university did a good job at providing activities for the parents and families to do, while still giving them free time to explore the campus.
